We enjoyed a slow morning and a nice hotel breakfast. The hotel staff were sooo helpful and lovely. They were saying the weather is a month ahead of time and is unusually hot so we got very lucky. It’s been around 24 degrees with bright blue skies. Our plan today is to stroll down to the main port and get on a ferry taxi to Positano.
Positano is a cliffside village along the Amalfi Coast. It’s home to a hotel called Treville which is a gorgeous hotel right on the edge of the cliff, with the most stunning interior. My mum has followed the hotel on instagram for years and alwaaays sends me photos so she is very excited she gets to see it from the water. We wont be staying there as it’s about 1,000 euro per night!
We’re absolutely hitting our 10k+ steps on this holiday so far, we have a bit of lengthy walk to and from the main town up and down lots of steps. This is the first trip my Mum has been on since her hip replacement in July of last year. It’s sooooooooo good to see her walking so much with no hip pain!
The ferry cost about 20 euro each there and back and takes around 20/30 minutes.
Probably one of the prettiest boat trips ever. The way they build into the cliffs is so impressive.
We had a walk around, the main town is tiny. Looked in some shops at pretty lemon themed crockery, headed for some lunch and gelato and soaked up the sun for a few hours before heading on the next boat back to Amalfi.
The buffalo mozzarella - never tasted mozzarella quite like it.
We had a slow hilly walk home and decided to chill this evening, have a nap and read our books.
I met Alex in the hotel bar for a little aperivito time.
